Oral health and
dental hygiene
For a truly beautiful smile, no matter what dental procedure is involved, it is necessary to start from the step of health and understand its primary importance. The health plan is the base, a first step in therapy and therefore there should be no compromise at this stage. It is only after we have ensured that everything in the mouth is healthy, whether assisted by aesthetic restorations (filling) or endodontics, does the planned surgical, functional or aesthetic solution come into consideration.
Microscope in dentistry for more precise, efficient and successful work
Working on teeth, as well as dentistry in general, is a very delicate job, which is why we have been using a microscope in the Dentorium office since 2012. Here at Dentorium, all endodontic treatments are performed with a microscope, allowing us to precisely detect the smallest changes in tooth enamel in the form of caries.
No matter the area – endodontics, surgery, periodontology, prosthetics, conservative dentistry – working with a microscope gives a unique insight into what you’re working with and makes it extremely precise and efficient, with a high percentage of success.
We have to control many factors in order to be sure that what we’re doing is done with extreme precision, which is important for longevity and is a guarantee of the work being done. This is the level of service offered to patients at Dentorium.
Dental hygiene is the healthiest habit to be implemented from an early age
The importance of good dental care starts early in your child’s life. Caries in babies may affect feeding and nutrition, as well as jaw development and speech. A child with dental caries may become worried during a visit to the dentist. Just like success in most areas of life, oral health depends on developing the right habits.
If your child has poor oral health habits from an early age, it can have a long-term effect. Oral health affects everything, from food and nutrition to school work and productivity. It can even affect the quality of sleep, self-respect, socialisation and the general quality of life. If you teach your child healthy oral habits from an early age, they are likely to stick with them for the rest of their life.
Many irregularities can be influenced early on and can be avoided or can at least mitigate further treatment, therefore it is important that you react in time!
We take care of the health of your teeth!
At Dentorium, we are quite aware of the need for good prevention to avoid the appearance of a visible problem or pain. Our mission is to develop long-term relationships with our patients to ensure exclusive service through personalized, friendly and long-term attention.
We take care of the reminder and contact of patients every 6 months, where examination and cleaning of dental plaque are not only preventive visits, but also control visit and guarantee of work.
We believe that education is the most powerful tool in positive change in attitude and lifestyle habits
We like to believe that we are recognized for our comprehensive approach to the patient where no question is left unanswered. It is important to us that our explanations are clear and convincing and that they encourage a child or an adult to regularly maintain oral hygiene and care for every part of the oral cavity.
The entire Dentorium team works on every case in order to come up with a smile you want, one that allows you to smile without worry and motivates you to take care of your health.
Our dental hygienist Mia is a professional when it comes to oral health prevention, oral cavity diseases prevention and education about the very importance of maintaining oral hygiene.
A dental assistant helps Mia so that the work would be as efficient as possible, and so that our patients are satisfied.
In Dentorium, each treatment begins and ends with detailed teeth hygiene.
Aesthetic restorations
Aesthetic restorations completely copy the natural appearance, color and shape of the teeth, while the extremely important functional condition of contact of the upper and lower teeth is satisfied.
Everything is done under local anesthesia, there is no pain while the doctors are calm and with gentle hands.
In our work we use a cofferdam technique that enables high precision of aesthetic restorations and eliminates the absorption of heavy metals into the body (especially important when removing amalgam fillings).
Everything is done under local anesthesia, there is no pain while the doctors are calm and with gentle hands. We want to keep as much of the natural tooth structure, functionality, aesthetics and longevity of the teeth as possible. If they are well made, with adequate hygiene, fillings can last a long time.
It is enough to polish the fillings made at regular check-ups every 6 months, which serve to timely detect and prevent the spread of caries.
Dentorium’s protocol of aesthetic reconstructions
The Cofferdam or rubber dam technique (rubber that is fixed to the teeth with titanium clasps) enables a clean and dry working field, with serial work on the teeth. For the patient, this means a shorter recovery time, fewer anesthetics and less dentist appointments. It is more comfortable for the patient and easier for the dentist.
Cofferdam perfectly isolates saliva from the mouth and moisture coming from the lungs, one of the most important factors affecting the quality of tooth reconstruction.
Currently, this technique is the only way to prevent amalgam dust from entering the body during grinding. After we get a clear and clean area of work, the old filling is removed and the cavity that formed under and around the tooth is cleaned up. It is controlled by a caries detector, a device that indicates the existence of caries by changing their color.
After the cavity is completely removed, to establish a dry area of work is of utmost importance in ensuring the quality and longevity of the filling. If you find that your fillings are being changed too often, it probably means that one of these two factors was not properly done.
In aesthetic tooth reconstructions, the goal is to completely copy the nature of the tooth color and shape, where fissure nodules are shaped with specific brushes. This approach ensures that the functional element – including the contact between the upper or lower teeth – is completely satisfied.
We use a composite material of increased strength and color fastness, reinforced with ceramic microgranules that enable a high gloss polishing finish and greater aesthetics.
The end result is a tooth that is morphologically and functionally as similar as possible to the natural tooth (aesthetic dentistry).
Endodontics
Endodontics / endo treatment or root canal treatment is one of the most common dental treatments, and is performed when the pulp of your tooth is damaged by trauma or bacterial infection from deep caries (the most common cause of toothache).
Our goal is not only to save the tooth, but also to react in time before the inflammation process has progressed.
Tooth root treatment is required in the case of nerve inflammation (acute inflammation), or when you need to treat a dead tooth (chronic inflammation) and it is necessary to clean, disinfect and fill the canal space. It is also suggested if the caries has reached the nerve itself, affecting its health.
Because of the potential for tooth loss and the effect on overall health, root canal treatment is among the priorities in health therapy. We aim not only to save the tooth, but also to respond in time even before the inflammation process has progressed.
Endodontic process in Dentorium
Diagnosis is made on the basis of symptoms (pain, swelling, etc.), clinical examination and RVG (x-ray image of an individual tooth).
Treatment is done in two stages / appointments:
- Cleaning, widening and disinfection of canals and medication
- Removal of the medication and filling of the root canal, reinforcement of canals and filling or, as the case may be, preparation for the crown.
All endo treatments at Dentorium are performed under local anesthesia and with the help of a microscope, whose extraordinary precision enables us the highest quality of work.
